i feel fine.

FREEDOM.

Let's just say that I have seen far more sunrises at the close of this semester than I cared for. I have also worn out my tolerance for propelling a metal contraption with only my legs carrying the weight of myself plus approximately one hundred pounds of books on my back.

I am ecstatic to be going home in mere hours. The sunshine of Hawaii just can't compare with the snow on the ground in Utah during Christmastime.

if you've got trouble

Usually, I am a fan of comic book super heroes and movies.

"You must become..a green lantern."

I was definitely not expecting the extent of the absurdity of this trailer when it opened with Ryan Reynolds.

good night

Sometimes great things happen. This week has been a great thing. Starting on Sunday, my roommates and I watched all of the previous 6 Harry Potter movies. Whoa. I seriously love those girls so much and I'm so glad we're all staying here for winter! Rebecca would whisper every single spell before they said it on the movies. Seriously, she knew every spell. Jessica would tell us 10 minutes in advance, "Guys, this is my favorite line coming up. Wait for it..wait for it.." And Alyssa could never hear during the quiet parts and kept asking what everyone was saying..when there had been subtitles on the entire movie (we don't have the remote for our dvd player, so sometimes subtitles pop up, but we have no way to turn them off). All in all, it was such a great bonding experience for us, and a good way to build up the excitement for 11.19.10.

Last night was a good night. There are few things I love more than Harry Potter. This article sorted BYU majors into Hogwarts houses, and English majors were in Ravenclaw, due to the fact that we are creative, intelligent and witty. Sounds about right. So I decided to dress in Ravenclaw colors for the movie. Luckily, Janelle and Ariel went to the theater to go stand in line and save seats at approximately 5:00 pm on Thursday, so by the time Devin, Becca, Jessica and I got there at 10:00, we had way good seats and were able to just sit around and chat for the next two hours, waiting for the movie to start. Oh. And see about 100000 BYU students at the theater.

We met up with Harry Potter, the man himself.

Needless to say, the movie was incredible. The funniest one of them all, as well as the scariest one. I definitely screamed/jumped a few times, but I laughed SO hard too! Seriously I love Ron. And Harry Potter. And Hermione. And Fred and George. And Sirius (I know he's not in this movie, but I love him still). And Dobby. And Hedwig. Whoa. I guess I just love everyone. And sometimes I hate that I'm a muggle.

But sometimes we pretend like we're magic. Wait no. We really are.

Luckily, I have an Asian roommate, so I brought a chopstick for a wand.
July 2011, here I come.

dig it

Yesterday I registered for all my winter semester classes.
Five English classes. No big deal.
One marriage class. I'm still trying to warm up to the whole idea.
Hawaii doesn't participate in time changes.
Luckily, my phone changed by itself. Hour late to church. Awesome.
Went to the CES fireside tonight with Devin, Kylie and Ariel.
Went back to Ariel's for homemade pretzels. Incredible.
Laughed extremely hard for about 10 consecutive minutes without breathing until tears were streaming down my face with Janelle and Devin.

for no one

I have a pretty cool cousin.
She's one of the most fashionable people I know.
And also the smartest.
I found this on her blog.
Love it.

madman

This week I was talking to a boy about books. He said that sometimes a book will be 300 pages long and by the time he gets to 250, he'll be sick of the book and just won't finish it.

What the.

I'm afraid I may have looked at him like he was a crazy person.

helter skelter

Halloween.

Honestly, not my favorite holiday.
Okay, probably my least favorite holiday.
I'm not big into dressing up.
I don't like scary things.
But I do like these:

And I LOVE doing make up/face paint.
This was last year:

The thing I love most about Halloween is when it's over.
Because it means CHRISTMAS is just around the corner!!!
Holiday commercials have already started airing.

So, to one and all: Happy Halloween.

tip of my tongue

I am so much more articulate in my head.
When I talk out loud, I just get tongue tied.
I can never seem to find the words.

you know my name (look up the number)

"If you can find him, then he can find you. If he wants to find you, then he will."
"If a guy doesn't call you, he doesn't want to call you."
"A wise person once told me that if a guy wants to be with a girl, he will make it happen, no matter what."
He's Just Not That Into You.

I feel like those are words of wisdom. Not that I'm particularly interested in anyone at the moment, but sometimes girls in general just make a huge deal out of nothing. They read into every single tiny little detail and make it out to be something that it just isn't. So instead of wondering if a boy likes me or doesn't like me based on the sole fact of how many times we made eye contact during class, I'll just have my crushes and be normal and see if anything happens. If a boy wants to get a hold of me, it's definitely not hard. With facebook, the student directory, class time... I'll just wait for that time to come. But I won't make something out to be something it isn't.

revolution

Some things have changed since last year.

I go to the beach more.
I ride the bus less.
I have to go grocery shopping.
I have to cook for myself.
I have Netflix.
Devin isn't my roommate.
I'm taking more English classes.
I love yoga.
I have a bike.
I procrastinate less (kind of).
I keep my room clean.
I do laundry more than once a month.
I have a dream catcher in my room.
Mckensie and Alicia aren't here.

Small changes, big changes. I am revolutionizing the way I live my life.

step inside love

Romantic comedies are taking over my life.
Cannot get enough.
Especially when watching them with Janelle and Devin.

moonlight bay

Last October, Devin, Maggie, Alicia, and I had our first real bonding experience as a hallway at the Haunted Lagoon (I don't think Mckensie came, but I can't remember why). There's just nothing like screaming to bring roommates closer. Our numbers have dropped since last year-- Alicia and Mckensie didn't come back, and Maggie is usually pretty busy :)-- so this time it was just Devin and myself. She was over at my house on Monday when we realized that students got a 50% off discount, Monday night only. After a few setbacks (one being Taylor Swift's music video "Mine" that we couldn't stop watching), we found ourselves speed walking to the PCC at 7:50 to get our tickets before they stopped selling them at 8. Sweating and panting, we bought our tickets and stood in line. We passed up the opportunity to lay in a coffin with all the sounds and smells of a real funeral, as well as getting our picture taken with the BYUH students dressed up as creepy things. Right before we got to the canoes, we had to pass through a dark tent with masked people crouching in the shadows. Those 45 seconds may have been the scariest part for me. I gripped Devin's bicep so hard. After that, we had to sit on benches, waiting for the next canoe. We were excited/scared. Greasy faces and all.

The ride, although not as scary as last year, was definitely longer. It was about 35 minutes long. And even though it wasn't as scary as last year doesn't mean it wasn't scary. We may or may not have peed/cried a little bit. There were a few moments when I was basically laying on the lap of the stranger sitting next to me. Devin found that it became less scary when she pulled the masks off the people in the water. All in all, a good experience. Halloween, here we come.

After the Haunted Lagoon, we pretty much relived most of what we did last year: Bought a Ben & Jerry's (on-sale). Watched a movie. Devin fell asleep. Devin slept talked. I had to wake her up to tell her to go to bed. Devin quoted a movie wrong. We laughed until we cried. And fell asleep, two in a twin bed.

Kenz and Alicia, Hawaii sure isn't the same without you.

(I know we look super great in these photos. We got home, looked in the mirror and said, "Good thing we didn't run into any cute boys while we were out. Because we look awesome." And then we took really great pictures. Devin: "At least we look pretty tan." Well said.)

her majesty

Lately (or for awhile), I've been pretty obsessed with (along with plenty of other things) all things British. I love the accent, the fashion, the history, the music, the architecture... The appeal just goes on and on for me.

here, there and everywhere

A summary of summer vacations.

Wyoming.
This July, my great grandpa Carl Robinson was inducted into the Afton, Wyoming Hall of Fame. So of course it turned into a Robinson family reunion. The Orsaks came with us and off we went, to stay in the Mountain Inn Condos. A family favorite.

This year, at least, the pool was actually open! So we did a little swimming.

We attended the City Council meeting where the actual inducting took place.

We got to see the Fourth of July parade! It was approximately one block long. It went up one side of Main Street, and down the other. So you could see it from every angle. Conner loved it. It had a lot of horses.

Notice the world's largest Elk Horn Arch in the background.

The Carl Robinson Family float was a big hit.

We even participated a little bit.

We had a nice little dinner with our whole extended family. These are all of my grandpa's siblings.

Conner and Lauren had a lot of fun doing sidewalk chalk. Unfortunately, I was throwing up by this point. It wasn't a super fun ride home.

California.
Also in July, Lauren had a dance convention in LA. So my parents and I decided to tag along and make it a family vacation. The convention was actually in our hotel and that's where Lauren spent most of her time. I think she left the hotel twice to walk over to the mall across the street to get some food. On the other hand, my parents and I got to hang out quite a bit and we were leaving the hotel left and right. We did lots of cool things. My dad and I went to the LA Museum of Natural History, my mom and I hung out at the pool, we had breakfast on the beach, went out to dinner every night, and I even got to spend one day at Six Flags with my friend Johnny Watkins.

One evening, my parents and I drove to the Santa Monica Pier for sunset and dinner. Here lies the end of Route 66.

My parents are the cutest.

The sunset was pretty incredible and it was fun to be right on the pier for it.

Lauren did an incredible job dancing. Her trio made me cry a little bit.

On our way home, we stopped by the LA temple to take some pictures.

..And we had to stop by the fountain as well.

Instead of driving straight home, we stopped at St. George and stayed in our good friends the Glovers' condo. It was super. We went swimming. Then we got Cafe Rio the next day before returning back to Orem.

Camping.
On the Thursday before Labor Day Weekend, my mom asked me what we should do for Labor Day Weekend. I said camping. She said really? Because Labor Day Weekend is probably the biggest camping weekend of the year. But I really like camping and we haven't been forever. So. My parents drove up Thursday afternoon and reserved a spot. Then they came back and my dad and I packed up all our stuff and just left. It was very spur-of-the-moment and exciting. And great.

My dad made some of the best fires I've ever seen.

The Orsaks joined us for dinner Friday night.

As well as some fishing for the boys. My dad caught one and Conner put his finger in its mouth.

And rock throwing. There was a lot of rock throwing involved for Conner.

Friday night, whilst sitting around the camp fire, I broke through my chair.

And couldn't stop laughing.

To my defense, the chair had been getting quite worn down all summer.

Lauren and I forded the river to get a rock.

This rock. Worth it? Yes. Was the river freezing? Also yes.

All in all, it was a successful summer.
