This week I was talking to a boy about books. He said that sometimes a book will be 300 pages long and by the time he gets to 250, he'll be sick of the book and just won't finish it.
What the.
I'm afraid I may have looked at him like he was a crazy person.

helter skelter
Halloween.
Honestly, not my favorite holiday.
Okay, probably my least favorite holiday.
Okay, probably my least favorite holiday.
I'm not big into dressing up.
I don't like scary things.
But I do like these:
But I do like these:
This was last year:
Because it means CHRISTMAS is just around the corner!!!
Holiday commercials have already started airing.
So, to one and all: Happy Halloween.

you know my name (look up the number)
"If you can find him, then he can find you. If he wants to find you, then he will."
"If a guy doesn't call you, he doesn't want to call you."
"A wise person once told me that if a guy wants to be with a girl, he will make it happen, no matter what."
He's Just Not That Into You.
I feel like those are words of wisdom. Not that I'm particularly interested in anyone at the moment, but sometimes girls in general just make a huge deal out of nothing. They read into every single tiny little detail and make it out to be something that it just isn't. So instead of wondering if a boy likes me or doesn't like me based on the sole fact of how many times we made eye contact during class, I'll just have my crushes and be normal and see if anything happens. If a boy wants to get a hold of me, it's definitely not hard. With facebook, the student directory, class time... I'll just wait for that time to come. But I won't make something out to be something it isn't.

revolution
Some things have changed since last year.
I go to the beach more.
I ride the bus less.
I have to go grocery shopping.
I have to cook for myself.
I have Netflix.
Devin isn't my roommate.
I'm taking more English classes.
I love yoga.
I have a bike.
I procrastinate less (kind of).
I keep my room clean.
I do laundry more than once a month.
I have a dream catcher in my room.
Mckensie and Alicia aren't here.
Small changes, big changes. I am revolutionizing the way I live my life.

moonlight bay
Last October, Devin, Maggie, Alicia, and I had our first real bonding experience as a hallway at the Haunted Lagoon (I don't think Mckensie came, but I can't remember why). There's just nothing like screaming to bring roommates closer. Our numbers have dropped since last year-- Alicia and Mckensie didn't come back, and Maggie is usually pretty busy :)-- so this time it was just Devin and myself. She was over at my house on Monday when we realized that students got a 50% off discount, Monday night only. After a few setbacks (one being Taylor Swift's music video "Mine" that we couldn't stop watching), we found ourselves speed walking to the PCC at 7:50 to get our tickets before they stopped selling them at 8. Sweating and panting, we bought our tickets and stood in line. We passed up the opportunity to lay in a coffin with all the sounds and smells of a real funeral, as well as getting our picture taken with the BYUH students dressed up as creepy things. Right before we got to the canoes, we had to pass through a dark tent with masked people crouching in the shadows. Those 45 seconds may have been the scariest part for me. I gripped Devin's bicep so hard. After that, we had to sit on benches, waiting for the next canoe. We were excited/scared. Greasy faces and all.
The ride, although not as scary as last year, was definitely longer. It was about 35 minutes long. And even though it wasn't as scary as last year doesn't mean it wasn't scary. We may or may not have peed/cried a little bit. There were a few moments when I was basically laying on the lap of the stranger sitting next to me. Devin found that it became less scary when she pulled the masks off the people in the water. All in all, a good experience. Halloween, here we come.
After the Haunted Lagoon, we pretty much relived most of what we did last year: Bought a Ben & Jerry's (on-sale). Watched a movie. Devin fell asleep. Devin slept talked. I had to wake her up to tell her to go to bed. Devin quoted a movie wrong. We laughed until we cried. And fell asleep, two in a twin bed.
Kenz and Alicia, Hawaii sure isn't the same without you.
(I know we look super great in these photos. We got home, looked in the mirror and said, "Good thing we didn't run into any cute boys while we were out. Because we look awesome." And then we took really great pictures. Devin: "At least we look pretty tan." Well said.)
